OptMsg was born around a firepit from the frustration of spending too much time in a day checking emails, most of which are attempts to scam us and no matter how hard we tried unsubscribing it did not work. Children and older adults are especially susceptible to these increasingly sophisticated intrusions into our lives to steal our money, our identity, and our sanity.
To make matters worse, the advertising giants coach us to get “free” email accounts. They are all too ready to read their contents (as allowed in their very fine print) to learn all about our lives and behaviors to sell us more stuff. Billions of messages a day leave valuable breadcrumbs to our lives that had been given away for “free”. Hadn’t we learned there is no such thing as “free”?

Founders Story
Co-founders, Ryan LaMirand and Matt Dobbie brought the perfect backgrounds to make OptMsg a reality. Ryan LaMirand, a career veteran in digital marketing, technology, and data solutions, spent the bulk of his career advising others on the responsible use of data and protecting consumer privacy.
Matt Dobbie’s successful career in Financial Planning and Wealth Management was all about protecting individuals and their families from future harm and risks to ensure a happy life. Together, they believed in a better future for all consumers and so OptMsg was born to change consumer messaging forever.
