How private opt-in email works
OptMsg checks each incoming email address against your approved contact list. If it matches, the email goes to your Inbox. If it doesn’t, it goes to Trash, and it’s automatically deleted after 30 days. Also, OptMsg goes by the real sender address, not the name shown.

Do I have to change my email address?
You get a new @optmsg.com address, and you can keep your current email while you move over. First, forward your existing email to your new account. Then update your contacts and online accounts at your own pace. Forwarding instructions: Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, iCloud, Xfinity, Zoho Mail. Note: Yahoo requires their users to upgrade to a paid account so they can forward their emails.
Is there an easy way to load the contacts I trust?
Yes. First, download and log in to the OptMsg mobile app after you register. Then you’ll be prompted to sync contacts from your device, adding people you already know and trust. Finally, you can add other addresses manually or as you go.
What if someone new emails me? My doctor, my kid’s school?
Their first email goes to Trash, where you can see it. Approve them right from Trash, and their mail lands in your Inbox from then on. Expecting someone new? Check Trash first.
Do you sell my data?
No. Your data is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI. We keep only what we need to run your account, bill you and verify that it’s you.
